The victim of an early morning car crash has been named by police as 23-year-old Haramardeep Singh Ghuman from Bridgend.

The crash, involving a blue Seat Ibiza, happened at around 3.30am on Sunday September 13 on the Bedwas side of Bedwas Bridge on the A468 near Caerphilly.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from the Maesycwmmer area, was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition.

Gwent Police Area Support Unit Sergeant Robert Ball said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this collision, and I would ask anyone who saw this incident to contact us, if they haven’t already, or anyone who saw this vehicle beforehand in the Caerphilly or Blackwood area to call us on 101 quoting log number 99 13/9/15.”

Police originally reported the two men in the car were aged 24.
