A Blackwood woman hit the jackpot on her 80th birthday, winning £1,000 as part of Wales Air Ambulance’s Lifesaving Lottery.
Pamela Hawkins celebrated her birthday on October 10 – the same day she received the news of her prize.
The charity lottery, which helps fund the work of the Wales Air Ambulance, has a guaranteed jackpot of £1,000 every week, plus a runner-up prize of £200, third prize of £100 and 20 prizes of £10.
Mark Stevens, Wales Air Ambulance’s Fundraising Manager, said: “The Lifesaving Lottery is an opportunity for people to donate to a worthwhile Welsh charity and be in with a chance of winning a cash prize.
“Pamela is a loyal member of the Lifesaving Lottery, and it is great that we were able to thank her for her support through the jackpot, and on her 80th birthday as well.”
