Four to be taken to hospital after crash on A467 between Crumlin and Newbridge

Four people are to be hospitalised after a serious crash on the A467 between Crumlin and Newbridge.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which happened this morning at, Tuesday, December 1, at around 7.40am.

Two vehicles were involved – a red Honda Civic and a white Renault van.

The collision occurred near to the entrance of Newbridge Technology Park, and the road is currently closed while emergency services are in attendance. Diversions are in place.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “The male occupant of the Honda Civic and the three occupants travelling in the van have all sustained injuries and will all be conveyed to hospital for treatment.

“Anyone who may have witnessed the vehicles in the lead up to, or at the time of the collision, is asked to call 101 quoting log 42 01/12/15.”

    We could see it from our front room window there were loads of blue flashing lights I hope all that were involved are okay!

    How sad! Let us hope they are actually treated and not put on a trolley for six hours in typical Welsh NHS fashion.
