Police are appealing for information after a 66-year-old man was assaulted on Woodbine Road, Blackwood.
The man was walking along the road in the direction of High Street at approximately 11am on Tuesday, February 2, when he was approached by a man and glassed to the head.
He suffered cuts to his face and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport for treatment.
Police have described the attacker as white, in his 20s and was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt and a light-coloured hat, possibly a baseball cap.
