It’s down to luck, say the Brad Alley Cats skittles team from Llanbradach Social Club who have won a major inter county skittles championship for a third time.

The team travelled to Weymouth in Dorset to compete against 11 teams from Bristol, Swindon, Cardiff, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Avon in a close fought battle.

The Brad Alley Cats finally beat their nearest rivals, the Samson Rams A team from Bristol, by just six points, with a final score of 402.

The competition was organized by Serious About Events, who run a series of highly popular skittles weekends events throughout the winter and spring in south coast resorts, plus the annual Gasket Guy British Skittles Championships.

The Brad Alley Cats have now won three such contests, previously in Newquay and Ilfracombe.

Team captain Michael Davies’s claim that it’s all down to 98% luck is probably more than a bit modest.
