Cricket clubs across Caerphilly County Borough had differing luck with the weather across the weekend, as rain fell sporadically.
In South East Wales Division 1, Blackwood Town made the most of a dry spell by beating bottom side Radyr by 36 runs, finishing on 190 for ten at Highfields.
Radyr captain Rhys Lloyd was dismissed for a duck after he was caught by opposition captain Richard Williams, while Daniel Wilkinson hit 53 for the hosts, before he was caught by Adam Khattar.
In the same division, Newbridge’s clash with Pontypridd was called off due to the weather for a second consecutive week, leaving them with ten points from a possible 40.
In South East Wales Division 3, Crumlin secured second place with a convincing six-wicket win over Whitchurch-Heath having won the toss.
The home side posted 135 all out, and it took just four of Crumlin’s batsmen to reach 136.
Machen were comprehensively beaten by Monmouth, whose score of 266 all out proved too high to match, the visitors only managing 90 all out.
