A form of football which aims to be inclusive to older generations and players returning from injury has proved popular during its first year within Caerphilly County Borough.
Walking football is a non-contact sport, where sprinting, running or jogging is penalised.
The sport is inclusive of adults aged 50 and over, including those with disabilities and health issues, and sessions are run in partnership with GP referrals.
Walking football sessions are held every Tuesday at Risca Leisure Centre from 4pm until 5pm, and at Caerphilly Leisure Centre from 1pm until 2pm.
Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services said: “I am delighted that walking football has proved so popular during its first year in Caerphilly county borough. I look forward to seeing how the sport progresses within the borough in years to come”.
