Gwent Police has warned residents to be wary of bogus callers purporting to be collecting for charities.
Officers have received reports of a man knocking on doors along Fflorens Road, Newbridge, claiming he was collecting money for the blind, despite wearing a Dogs Trust charity jacket.
It is claimed he became agitated when questioned by the public and was unable to provide identification.
The man has been described as in his early 20s, of slight build, dark wavy hair, wearing a blue Dogs Trust jacket, grey bobble hat, and carrying a folder.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 101, quoting log number 432 22/11/16.
Officers are reminding residents not to let someone they do not know into their house, and to report suspicious activity.
