Last Christmas saw a sharp rise in shoppers choosing to use their high street and support local retailers.
The council’s annual Choose The High Street Christmas voucher booklet was launched with more than 112 offers from local retailers aimed at marketing the diverse shopping experience offered in town centres.
Caerphilly and Ystrad Mynach town centres enjoyed significant rises in footfall, while Blackwood welcomed 191,524 shoppers in the five weeks running up to Christmas – up 24,000 on the previous year.
Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development, Cllr Ken James, said: “We are committed to supporting traders and attracting more people to our towns.”
