The inquest into the death of a 15-year-old girl who died on Caerphilly Mountain last month has been adjourned by the coroner.
Shauna Davies, 15, from Graig-y-Rhacca, died in the early hours of Sunday, June 18, after emergency services were called to a wooded area just off Caerphilly Mountain Road, Caerphilly town.
David Bowen, Senior Coroner for Gwent, opened the inquest on Monday, July 10, and adjourned it for three months.
A postmortem, carried out by forensic pathologist Deryck James, could not establish a cause of death.
• A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with drug offences in connection with Miss Davies’ death.
The boy, from Gelligaer, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with supplying the class A drug MDMA to Miss Davies and three other youths, in addition to a charge of supplying cannabis.
The teen is next due to appear at Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 25.
