A man dressed in hi-vis clothing tried to scam his way into people’s homes at a council-run sheltered housing complex in Blackwood.
Caerphilly County Borough Council said a man knocked several doors at around 10pm on Wednesday, July 19, claiming he needed access to work on people’s kitchens as part of a council improvement scheme.
When challenged, the man ran off.
The council has said its workers would not be calling so late and that all council officers have identification badges.
