Caerphilly County Borough Council has issued an appeal for information after a brick was thrown at the windscreen of a gritter.
The incident happened on Sunday evening in Phillipstown, New Tredegar.
The driver is believed to have escaped with just minor injuries.
In a statement posted on social media, Caerphilly County Borough Council said: “We’re really sad to report that this happened to one of our gritters on Sunday evening in Phillipstown.
“A brick was thrown through the windscreen. The police have been informed.”
Mindless idiots to carry out such an act – unfortunately Phillipstown has become like Penrhys in the Rhondda – a village on the hillside with no police presence.
The community needs to speak out and identify the offenders ( they will know who they are ).
We are paying for 3 tier police service from PCs, CPOs and council wardens and we are not getting no service, time to go back to a one tier and have value for money.
