A midwife who has delivered almost 1,100 babies burst into tears on national live television after being surprised on ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway by Ant and Dec.
As part of a Mothers’ Day special, the presenters picked out Wendy Watson, of Caerphilly, from the studio audience.
The pair explained how over a career spanning in excess of 30 years, Wendy had helped deliver 1,082 babies.
They then revealed they had invited people on to the show who were brought into the world by Wendy.
Asking the audience to stand up if they had been delivered by Wendy, two rows got out of their seat. In total, there were 60.
The midwife burst into tears, but more was to come when the presenters went live to a pub packed out with even more people.
Ant also presented Wendy with a Civic Award and told her she was being treated to a five-day holiday in Jamaica.
