Police are appealing for information after eggs were thrown at motorists in Oakdale.
Gwent Police received a report of a man throwing eggs at passing traffic on Monday, February 19, in the area of Central Avenue in Oakdale.
It is believed the eggs were stolen at around 8.30pm on the same day from the Co-Op stores in Oakdale.
In a statement, Gwent Police said: “Reports of this nature are taken very seriously and police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the area during that time or anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV who we believe will be able to help us with our enquiries.
“If you have any information please call 101 and quoting 486 19/02/18.”
Yet another brainless idiot loose in our communities – the parents of louts like this must be made to take responsibility
I agree John, the problem is that parents today want everyone else to take responsibility.
These crimes wouldn’t happen if we had constables on the beat instead of hiding.
Not just hiding, visiting burger huts for amorous encounters!I am sure that most of the police are okay though, it’s just the way this force, and others, are managed. We do need visible policing and less paper pushing. It may look a waste of time but a beat copper learns much about the area and prevents a lot of crime.
Police management do not see it like this, their performance is measured in clear up rates and diversity achievements. Crime prevention, by definition, is not measurable anf does not figure in their KPIs (Key performance indicators)
A lot of time is wasted on so called “community engagement” events which have nothing at all to do with preventing or detecting crime ( most are seen as being a jolly ).
A beat copper would engage with their local community whilst going about their daily patrol duties – so thete is absolutely no justification in such events.
