Trethomas school awarded Investors in Families quality mark

The school was presented the award by assessor Sue Davies.

A primary school in Trethomas are celebrating after gaining their Investors in Families (IIF) quality mark.

Tyn y Wern Primary School achieved the IIF quality mark on Tuesday, 10 July.

The award recognises the work that schools and other settings undertake with families to improve outcomes for children and young people.

The assessor, Sue Davies, said in the report: “The written and pictorial evidence presented clearly meets the requirements of accreditation for Investors in Families and was a pleasure to review.

“The school devotes a lot of time to encourage very positive relationships with all stakeholders and customers. They give quality support to many areas of the community and consequently receive huge support from them in return.

“Tyn Y Wern Primary is an example of excellent practice for engaging families, partners and the school community. Partnerships are a key element of the success of the school.”

Caroline ap Hywel, the school’s Family and Community Engagement co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted that we are successful in being awarded the accolade.
