Man left with serious injuries after motorhome fell on him in Llanbradach

A man was taken to hospital after a motorhome he was working on fell on top of him.

Emergency services were called to Morgan Street Works in Llanbradach at around 4.35pm on Tuesday, October 9.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “We received a report a person stuck under a vehicle on Morgan Street in Llanbradach.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the person was taken to the Heath Hospital in Cardiff with serious injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the incident.”

The Wales Air Ambulance was called and arrived at the scene at 5pm.

A spokesman said: “Following treatment, the patient was taken to University Hospital of Wales in a land ambulance, leaving scene at 5.30pm and arriving at hospital at 5.49pm.

“The Wales Air Ambulance medics travelled with the patient in the land ambulance and completed their involvement at 6.59pm.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said:  “We were called yesterday (October 10, 2018) at approximately 4.30pm to a medical emergency at Morgan Street Works, Llanbradach. We responded with one rapid response vehicle, one emergency ambulance, four members of our hazardous area response team and an air ambulance, where a male patient was taken by road ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.”
