Firework season is upon us once again, and residents can choose from several displays being held across Caerphilly County Borough.

Caerphilly Castle’s display is being held on Saturday, November 3 at 7pm.

Admission is free but there is a collection for the Town Mayor’s charity appeal.

Best viewing areas are Crescent Road and Dafydd Williams Park.

People are reminded that there is a temporary closure on Crescent Road between 5pm and 9pm on the night.

There will be no access to the town from Nantgarw Road, with temporary parking available at Ysgol Gymraeg Caerffili on Pontygwindy Road.

The town council has thanked Caerphilly County Borough Council, Cadw, Visit Caerphilly, Caerffilli Lions and 1223 Squadron Caerphilly Air Cadets for their ongoing support.

Please note that in the interests of safety, sparklers are banned at this event.

For more information, call 02920 888777.

On Monday, November 5, at 6pm, Blackwood Rugby Club will be hosting its annual show at Glan-yr-Afon Park.

Tickets cost £4 for adults, and £3 for concessions and children aged 16 and under. Fireworks start at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere on Monday, November 5, Bargoed Town Council’s display will also take place at 6pm at Hanbury Road Car Park. The display and accompanying rides are free. The display starts at 6.30pm.
