More overnight closures as Pwll-y-Pant roundabout nears completion

Work on the roundabout is drawing to a close

There will be a series of overnight closures over the next two weeks as work on the Pwllypant roundabout is set end on November 22.

Final road surfacing will be happening during the closures, Caerphilly County Borough Council has announced.

The closures, which will take place depending on the weather,  will happen on the following dates:

Monday November 12 and Tuesday November 13 (7pm to 6am) – Roundabout partial closure – Llanbradach Southbound, Corbetts Lane and Bedwas Eastbound.

Wednesday November 14 (7pm to 6am) -Roundabout partial closure -Bedwas Westbound, Pontygwindy Road, Trecenydd Westbound and Eastbound, Heol Pwllypant and Llanbradach Northbound.

Monday November 19 (7pm to 6am) -Roundabout partial closure and links -Bedwas westbound, Pontygwindy Road, Trecenydd westbound and easybound, Heol Pyllypant and Llanbradach northbound.

Tuesday November 20 (7pm to 6am) -Roundabout partial closure and links -Llanbradach southbound, Corbetts Lane and Bedwas eastbound.

Wednesday November 21 (7pm to 6am) -Roundabout partial closure and links -Bedwas westbound, Pontygwindy Road, Trecenydd westbound and eastbound, Heol Pyllypant and Llanbradach northbound.

Thursday November 22 (7pm to 6am) -Roundabout partial closure and links -Llanbradach southbound, Corbetts Lane and Bedwas eastbound.

The scheme will officially end on Monday, November 26, when the roundabout’s traffic signals will be switched on.

Work on improving the roundabout began in October 2017, with the aim of improving journey times and reducing congestion.

The council said diversionary routes will be in place during the closures and will be clearly signposted. Some bus services may also be affected.
