Megan Lewis, of Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School in Oakdale, handmade Christmas decorations and sold them to family and friends.
But instead of keeping the proceeds, the young entrepreneur decided to donate the £31 she made to food bank charity the Trussell Trust, after learning about the organisation during the school’s Harvest Festival celebrations earlier in the year.
Her parents have match-funded the money with the total donated being £62.
Mum Christine Morgan said: “We are extremely proud of her. We’ve explained that £62 will go a long way for someone this Christmas.”
