Chartist Bridge in Blackwood was closed by police today (Thursday, January 31) after reports of a person in distress.
The bridge was closed for approximately 20 minutes at around 1pm while enquiries were ongoing.
The bridge has since reopened and the person is now safe.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “At approximately 1pm this afternoon, we were called to Chartist Bridge in Blackwood following concerns for a person’s safety. They have now been safely found.”
