Bargoed scored nine tries to demolish Principality Premiership bottom-side Neath 55-14.
The Bulls secured a vital bonus-point win but are still 18 points from safety with six league games left.
Bargoed’s Josh Prosser opened the scoring at Bargoed Park with a 21st minute try, which he converted himself for a 7-0 lead.
After falling behind, Neath enjoyed a good attacking spell but Bargoed’s defence held out.
The hosts scored their second try when winger Ashley Norton’s run down the left wing saw Callum Jones cross over the line in the 26th minute.
Following a series of scrums close to Neath’s line, Bargoed put the visiting scrum under serious pressure.
Bargoed gave referee Simon Mills no choice but to award them a penalty try. Aled James’ side were now just one try away from a bonus point.
The bonus point appeared to have been won when Duane Dyer grounded the ball agonisingly short of the try line.
The Bulls took a 19-0 lead into the changing rooms at half-time.
Bargoed returned to the field in the second half eager to inflict more misery on their already-relegated opponents.
Neath conceded a penalty but Prosser missed the attempt from more than 40 metres out.
But Bargoed went on to clinch the bonus point when Dyer finally got himself on the scoreboard for the Bulls’ fourth try.
Prosser converted and Bargoed were now 26-0 ahead.
Centre Barney Nightingale then added the fifth try to make it 31-0 after good work once again by Ashley Norton.
Neath battled their way back into the game and the Welsh All Blacks scored twice within ten minutes.
Argentine Guido Volpi grabbed a try and two Callum Hall conversions brought Neath to within 17 points.
But Bargoed were having none of it and after another dominant scrum, the ball moved wide through Julian Mogg and Darren Humphries, who set up flanker Grant Rogers to score under the posts.
Prosser converted and Bargoed now led by 38 points to 14.
Minutes later, Bargoed forced a turnover which led to second-rower Geraint Edwards crashing over for try number seven to make it 43-14.
The hosts then made a number of substitutions, which Matthew Thomas returning to the field after a long injury lay-off.
Bargoed were awarded a second penalty try in the 71st minute as they broke the 50-point barrier.
The ninth and final try came moments later after a kick and chase from Prosser saw him score his second try of the day.
Neath launched a few late attacks but Bargoed’s defence was resilient and the match finished with a resounding 55-14 victory for the Bulls.
