More drug raids carried out across Caerphilly County Borough

News | Rhys Williams | Published: 11:11, Wednesday July 24th, 2019.

Gwent Police have carried out more drug raids across Caerphilly County Borough.

A 38-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both from Bargoed, were arrested on suspicion of possession of and intent to supply cannabis.

They have since been released under investigation.

The raids, which were also carried out in Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent, saw cannabis and cocaine seized from properties.

The raids happened on Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 19 and were carried out by local Neighbourhood Enforcement Teams, who were assisted by specialist officers and sniffer dogs.

All drugs seized will now be sent away for forensic examination and identification.

In total, 11 addresses across the force area were searched, with four people arrested.

Detective Inspector Jamie Cooper said: “I would like to thank the local community for their continuing support in helping us tackle the supply of controlled drugs and organised criminality.

“If you have any information about drug dealing or organised criminality in your community, please call us on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“Alternatively, you can send a direct message with information via our Gwent Police Facebook or Twitter social media pages.”
