Gerwyn Price will make his Champions League of Darts debut in October.

Price, 34, from Markham, qualified for the competition after results went his way in the World Matchplay in Blackpool.

Price, who is ranked seventh in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Order of Merit, secured his place in the Champions League despite a shock 13-12 defeat to Stephen Bunting.

The two-day competition will be held in Leicester and will begin on Saturday, October 19.

The eight competitors will be split into two groups of four, with the top two players from each group going into the semi-finals.

The final will be held on Sunday, October 20.

Price will be joined at the event by Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross, Daryl Gurney, Michael Smith, Peter Wright and James Wade, as well as Gary Anderson, who Price beat in the Grand Slam of Darts final in November.

In January, Price was handed a three-month ban from the sport, suspended for six months, for his behaviour during the final against Anderson. The suspended ban expired on July 11.
