An evening of live music will be held at Bedwas Workmen’s Hall on Friday, August 16.

There will be performances from Wayne George, Lily Crane and Natalie Jenkins.

The event is being held to help raise funds for Red Ray’s Lift Appeal.

Named after the late Ray Davies – a long serving councillor for the Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen ward – the appeal is aiming to raise money to install a new lift at the workmen’s hall to make it more accessible for the elderly and the disabled.

Volunteers are aiming to raise £80,000 to fund a new two-storey lift so the hall will comply with the 2005 Disability Act.

Tickets cost £6 and include a free raffle ticket.

Tickets can be bought online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/bwh or in person from Machen Post Office, Bedazzled in Trethomas, Cards for all Occasions in Bedwas and the Pit Stop Cafe, also in Bedwas.
