Caerphilly estate agent Fussells to close sales side of the business

Fussells on Market Street, Caerphilly

Long-established Caerphilly estate agent Fussells has announced plans to develop its lettings agency as its sole business.

It is to focus on the lettings division following the ongoing growth in the UK lettings market.

The move will see Charles Fussell retire from the company he set up 37 years ago.

It will also mean the loss of three jobs as the sales division moves towards an orderly closure at the end of the year. Fussells Lettings will remain at 6 Market Street, Caerphilly, for the foreseeable future.

Charles said: “I am very proud of what [my wife] Sheryl and I have achieved with the business and it has been a difficult decision to close down a part of the business we set up many years ago, and to see the loss of three jobs. We have seen lots of changes in the area and the sector over the years and have been resilient throughout, with staff who have been loyal and supportive.”

Properties currently for sale with Fussells will continue to be actively marketed and progressed to completion until December 31, 2019 and Fussells will focus entirely on lettings from the New Year.

Charles said: “Our lettings agency is sustainable and profitable, and it makes absolute sense to focus on that area in the future.”

Sheryl Fussell will lead the Fussells business as it enters this new phase.
