Rail changes to be explained at Bargoed Library

Rail passengers can find out about future improvements to the Rhymney Valley line at an event being run by operator Transport for Wales (TfW).

Staff from TfW will be at Bargoed Library on Thursday, September 26 between 4pm and 7pm. The meeting is one of several being held across the valleys in the coming weeks.

Officials from the ‘Valleys Taskforce’ – a Welsh Government scheme aimed at tackling poverty – will also be there to explain how transport changes could affect people’s lives.

Lee Waters AM, chair of the Valleys Taskforce, said: “We know affordable and reliable public transport is the number one issue for communities in the valleys and improving transport options will provide better access to jobs, education and vital services.

Lee Waters AM

“The local community has an important role to play in shaping the future of transport in the valleys and the roadshow events provide a great opportunity for people to learn more and share their opinion on the way forward.”
