A group of volunteers have collected 14 bags of litter, a scooter and an industrial-sized bin in a litter-pick at Caerphilly Castle.
Around 25 people, including children, took part in the litter-pick on Sunday, October 6.
Organiser Amy Alexander said: “It was pretty successful, we spent around an hour and a half collecting litter.
“We collected more than we expected – mostly cans, it was disgusting.”
Ms Alexander decided to arrange the litter pick after growing frustrated with the litter around the castle.
“I spend a lot of time walking around the castle and it’s spoilt by the litter.”
She got in touch with Andrew King from Caerphilly Keep Wales Tidy to help arrange the litter pick.
Ms Alexander said: “Andrew was fab. He provided us with all the equipment – everything he gave us was fantastic.”
Mr King said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the litter pick around Caerphilly Castle. This event was part of Keep Wales Tidy’s Marine Clean Cymru campaign, and it’s crucial that we come together to make a real and lasting difference to our environment.”
Ms Alexander said it was the first litter pick she had organised but said she would like to organise more in the future.
