Van stolen in reported burglary in Caerphilly town

The Volkswagen Transporter van that was stolen

A van has reportedly been stolen in a burglary at a house on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly town.

A set of keys were taken from the house before the blue Volkswagen Transporter van was stolen, police say.

Gwent Police say the incident was reported at around 1.15pm on Monday, January 6.

The van, which is still missing, has the number plate DA18 VRV.

Police would like to speak to this man

Police would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may be able to help with their enquiries.

Morgan Jones ward councillor Shayne Cook said: “This brazen theft in broad daylight is disgusting and I plea for residents to stay vigilant and make sure they secure their property.

“There has been a number of vehicle thefts in recent days and I have requested more police patrols in the area and resources to help tackle this problem.”
