Cross Keys shut out Glamorgan Wanderers away from home as they claimed a 24-0 win in the WRU National Championship.

The win extends the Keys’ recent upturn in form, winning five of their last seven games.

The victory sees the Keys remain tenth in the league, but the Pandy Park outfit have drawn closer to the teams above them with games in hand over their rivals.

On the back of a win over Maesteg Quins, The Keys opened the scoring at the Memorial Ground in Ely through a 17th minute Loui O’Brien penalty.

The first try of the game was scored 14 minutes later when flanker Joe Thomas crossed the line to score.

O’Brien scored the conversion as the Keys took a 10-0 lead into the break.

Five minutes into the second-half, the Keys extended their lead when captain Scott Andrews got himself on the scoreboard with a try.

O’Brien’s conversion put the Keys 17-0 ahead.

The Keys made a raft of changes during the second half, with Connah Vaughan coming on for scrum-half Zac Hewlett, Prop Owen Peddle coming on for Richard Cornock, and Tom Lampard coming on in place of try-scorer Thomas.

In the 67th minute, substitute Vaughan scored the Keys’ third try of the game, with O’Brien adding the extras.

However, the Keys were unable to score a fourth try to secure a bonus-point win as the game finished 24-0.
