Police confirm death of Bedwas woman, 73

The Wales Air Ambulance was called to the emergency in Bedwas

The death of a 73-year-old woman has been confirmed by Gwent Police.

It is understood the unnamed lady had reportedly fallen down some steps, but this has not been confirmed.

Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service and the Wales Air Ambulance were called to Bedwas on Saturday, June 20.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We were called to an address in Bryn Golau, Bedwas, at around 12.45pm on Saturday, June 20 to a report that a 73-year-old woman had been found unresponsive.

“Paramedics from the Wales Air Ambulance and Welsh Ambulance Service attended and confirmed that the woman was deceased.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report has been submitted to the coroner in relation to the death.”
