A 15-year-old boy from Caerphilly has been charged with the supply of ecstasy.

He will appear at Cwmbran Youth Court on July 28.

The teen was arrested on April 18, 2019, on suspicion of the supply of class A controlled drugs in connection with the death of Carson Price, 13, of Hengoed.

Carson died on April 12 last year after taking a form of ecstasy known as ‘Donkey Kong’ in Ystrad Mynach Park.

He was found “in and out of consciousness, pale and shaking” and was taken to the University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, where he later died.

A coroner later ruled that Carson, who was a pupil at Lewis School Pengam, died after taking an “excessive” amount of the drug and reacting violently to it.
