A new temporary coronavirus testing centre is set to open in Elliotstown, New Tredegar today (Wednesday, September 16).
The test centre will only be available for Caerphilly County Borough residents, with appointments needing to be booked in advance.
The test centre will be based in the car park at New Tredegar Business Park.
Residents wanting to be tested must bring ID and proof of address and are urged to travel by car, bike or foot – but not on public transport.
People are also required to wear face masks and maintain two-metre social distancing while at the test centre.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) has also urged people not to visit shops or any other places on the way to or from the test centre.

Wednesday, September 16 – 2pm to 6pm
Thursday, September 17 – Wednesday, September 23 – 8am to 6pm
The test centre is the third temporary facility set up in the borough, which is the only local authority area in Wales to have been placed under a local lockdown.
A drive-through test centre at the council offices in Tredomen closed down on Tuesday (September 15), while the walk-in site at Caerphilly Leisure Centre will close after Thursday (September 17).
Anyone with coronavirus symptoms can call 03003 031222 between 8am and 6pm to book a test in New Tredegar.
Mererid Bowley, interim director of Public Health for ABUHB, thanked residents for getting themselves tested and said the new test centre will “provide a testing service to residents in the north of the borough”.
Ms Bowley added: “Please book a test if you have symptoms of coronavirus – a new continuous cough, high temperature or loss of taste and/or smell – or if you’ve been feeling unwell for no apparent reason.”
