Police have raided two properties in Newbridge

Two men have been arrested after police drug raids in Newbridge on Wednesday morning (September 16).

Police carried out a drugs warrant at a property on Ebbw View Terrace and a property on Central Avenue, Pantside.

Police say the two raids were unrelated.

Three men from Caerphilly arrested in drugs bust as part of UK-wide operation

Following the raid at Ebbw View Terrace, a 34-year-old man from Newbridge was arrested on suspicion of smuggling class A drugs, as well as being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

Police said a quantity of drugs, believed to be class A and class B, were seized during the raid and will be sent away for forensic examination.

Following the raid at Central Avenue, a 58-year-old man from Pantside was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of a Class A drug, as well as importing Class A drugs.

Police said an “amount” of cash was seized from the property.

Inspector Andrew Boucher, of Gwent Police, said: “Tackling the supply of drugs is a priority for us and we will continue to take enforcement action against those involved in this type of criminality.
