Coronavirus test centres to open over Christmas

A coronavirus testing centre has been set up at the former Aldi car park in Rhymney

Coronavirus test centres will be operating across Caerphilly County Borough over Christmas.

The temporary walk-in test centres will be based in Bargoed, Pontllanfraith and Rhymney.

Where are the test centres?

Former Aldi car park site on Old Brewery Lane, Rhymney – NP22 5ET

Bargoed Library – CF81 8QR

Former council offices, Pontllanfraith – NP12 2YW

Residents will need to bring proof of address with them to get tested at the mobile test sites.

The test centres are operated by Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

Symptoms of coronavirus include a new continuous cough, high temperature and a loss of taste or smell.

The test centres will be available to Caerphilly County Borough residents only.

Residents will not need to book an appointment for a test.

However, coronavirus tests can be booked online to be taken at home. Visit obv.sr/c19test to book a home test.

9am – 12.30pm – Rhymney

2pm – 4pm – Bargoed

Saturday, December 26

11am – 3pm – Pontllanfraith

Monday, December 28

11am – 3pm – Pontllanfraith
