People who are unable to leave their homes will begin receiving their coronavirus vaccinations from today (Tuesday, January 26).
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) has confirmed that housebound individuals will now begin to be vaccinated within their own homes.
To date, vaccinations in Caerphilly County Borough have been carried out at the mass vaccination centre at Ty Penallta in Tredomen, at a selection of GP surgeries and in care homes.
Vaccines administered at home will be carried out in line with the priority groups, meaning those over the age of 80 will be notified first, with those over the age of 75 to follow shortly.

Vaccinations in people’s homes will be carried out by teams of district nurses, GPs and mobile vaccination units.
A spokeswoman for ABUHB told Caerphilly Observer the health board “has plans in place to start vaccinating those that are housebound from Tuesday, January 26”.
The spokeswoman added: “To roll out the vaccine to those that are housebound and eligible in line with the Joint Committee on Vaccinations and Immunisation (JCVI) priority groups, we will be using teams of district nurses, GPs and mobile units.
“Patients will be contacted the day before to let them know that the team are coming to give them their vaccine.”
