Venues across Caerphilly County Borough were lit up to mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Wednesday, January 27.
Caerphilly Castle, Blackwood Miners’ Institute, Bedwas Workmen’s Hall and Caerphilly County Borough Council’s headquarters in Tredomen were among the buildings lit up to pay respect to the people who were killed during the Holocaust.
Councillor Jamie Pritchard, the council’s equality champion, said: “It is important that we continue to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, as the atrocities of the Holocaust and other genocides throughout the world must never be forgotten.
“This year’s theme, ‘Be the light in the darkness’ encourages us to ‘be the light’ by showing an act of solidarity.”
