Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a car crash on the A472 road between Nelson and Ystrad Mynach.

The crash happened at around 1.50am on Wednesday, February 3.

A 39-year-old man from Pontypool, who was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa, was declared dead at the scene after his car came off the road.

Gwent Police has said his family is being supported by specially trained officers.

Police believe the car was involved in a crash at around 9.15pm on Tuesday night (February 2) and have appealed for witnesses, or anyone with dash cam footage of the area, to contact them.
