Woman, 51, dies after crash on A4048 Pontllanfraith

A 51-year-old woman has died following a car crash on the A4048 near Sainsbury’s supermarket, Pontllanfraith.

Two women, aged 53 and 29, remain in hospital in a critical condition, police have said.

Emergency services were called at around 7pm on Saturday, May 8, after two cars, a Vauxhall Astra and a Ford Fiesta, were involved in a crash.

Gwent Police said three women who were in the Fiesta were all taken to hospital. The 51-year-old woman has since died from her injuries.

A 20-year-old man, who was in the Astra, also remains in hospital in a stable condition.
