The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K and 2K races are set to return in May next year after a three-year absence.
The races were last held in May 2019, with the coronavirus pandemic forcing the 2020 and 2021 editions to be cancelled.
It had been rescheduled for September 2021, but this was cancelled two months before.
However, organisers Caerphilly County Borough Council has announced the race will go ahead on Sunday, May 15.
Entries are now open for runners to book their place at the event.
The race starts and finishes at Crescent Road in Caerphilly town, with runners running through the town, passing the castle, the Tommy Cooper statue and the giant cheese sculpture along the way.
The council has confirmed all existing entries into the cancelled races will be automatically transferred to the new date.
All information regarding race packs and road closures will be announced at a later date.
In a statement, the council thanked residents for their “understanding and cooperation throughout the disruption caused by the pandemic and look forward to delivering a safe and fun event for you this spring”.
