The Caerphilly Challenge Series will return in 2027

The annual Caerphilly Challenge Series will not return for 2026 – but a “refreshed event” will begin from next year.

Organisers Caerphilly County Borough Council confirmed it is taking a pause to review how it manages, organises, and promotes the event.

Each year, the walk is held in a different part of the borough, promising a challenge for walkers, joggers, and runners of all fitness levels and abilities.

Next year’s edition will start from the council’s Ty Penallta headquarters in Tredomen, with a trial walk being held this October in preparation.

In total, 150 walkers will be invited to take part in this trial walk, with more details set to be announced in due course.

The trial will help organisers finalise the route, logistics, and event arrangements ahead of the event’s return in 2027, the council said.

New flatter route confirmed for this year’s Caerphilly 10k
