A drug dealer who fled from police while naked has been jailed alongside his girlfriend for dealing cocaine.

Jack Cox, 27, and Alana Morgan, 32, both from Blackwood, were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on December 13 after pleading guilty to supplying cocaine.

Cox was handed a three-year and four-month sentence for supplying cocaine and ketamine, while Morgan was jailed for two-years and eight-months.

Morgan was previously charged with being involved in the supply of cocaine, as well as possession with intent to supply a Class A drugs.

The couple were arrested after police officers carried out a search warrant in November.

PC Ryan Hagan, of Gwent Police, said: “Morgan was tainting the drugs that she was selling to maximise the profit from this illegal activity, while Cox was so desperate to evade capture by officers that he fled an address naked from the police.

“I hope that both take the time to reflect on their actions following these significant sentences and the severe impact that their offending has had on their families and the community around them.”

PC Hagan added: “We’re committed to taking drugs off our streets and, thanks to the hard work and professionalism of our officers during this operation, this pair will be unable to continue their criminal enterprises.

“I’d like to thank our communities in Blackwood for their continued support. If you see something in the area, or have any information on drug dealing, let us know and we will deal with it.”
