The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k will be returning to Caerphilly town centre on Sunday, May 15.

The race will start and finish on Crescent Road, passing through the town centre and past the castle.

It is the first time the race has been held since 2019.

The Caerphilly 10k is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and is supported by Welsh Athletics, Run Wales and Sport Wales.

There will also be a 2k race held at the same time, with around 700 runners expected to take part.

However, there will be a number of full or partial road closures between 6am and 1pm on the day.

Crescent Road will be closed between 6am and 1pm.

Cardiff Road will be closed between 9am and 12pm, while the road between Bedwas Bridge roundabout and Van Road will be fully closed between 9.30am and 12pm.

Piccadilly Square will be fully closed from 9am to 10.15am, while Pontygwindy Road will be closed between 9.30am and 10.45am.

The road between the Pwllypant roundabout and Bedwas Bridge roundabout will be closed to traffic moving eastwards from 9am until 11.30am.

Despite the closures, there will still be access between Lansbury Park and Mornington Meadows throughout the day.

Bus routes and times will also be affected due to the closures.

There will be parking restrictions in place on Van Road and Pontygwindy Road. Cones will be placed along the route on Saturday evening.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has asked residents to find alternative parking arrangements for the event.
