The activities are being held at Newbridge Memo

A series of creative and wellbeing classes for all ages are being held at Newbridge Memo.

Activities such as children’s create and craft, 3D workshops, puppetry and performance classes are all on offer at the Memo and are being run by NoNaffArt, which is a not-for-profit group made up of art and wellbeing coaches operating across south Wales.

Wellbeing Wednesdays, Fine Art Fridays and men sheds are just some of the events running as part of the scheme, which runs until January.

The activities and courses are part of Arts Hub Gwledig, which is being delivered by NoNaffArt and funded by Arts Council of Wales.

‘Gwledig’ is the Welsh word for ‘rural’, with the scheme aiming to reach out to rural areas of Caerphilly County Borough and Torfaen.

NoNaffArt Director Tania Bryan said: “This art hub aims to offer creative workshops like no other, thanks to Arts Council of Wales we can offer true affordable and quality sessions delivered by professional artists and tutors working in the industry.”

Newbridge Memo’s Venue Manager, Ally Gibson, said: “To host this new creative workshop offer for diverse ages and abilities is core to the direction the Memo wants to focus on moving into the future. We want to ensure all creative passions within arts and culture can be accessed by all in rural communities.”

Those taking part in the activities will be able to showcase their artworks at a number of art exhibitions throughout the year.

Classes are divided into eight-week blocks and can be booked through the NoNaffArt website or email NONaffArt@gmail.com to book a taster session.
