Rhymney residents are being encouraged to nominate ‘heroes’ from the area who are helping nature and tackling climate change.
People can nominate individuals, organisations or communities for the Green Heart Hero Awards which celebrates people who create a ‘cleaner, greener world, for us and future generations’.
There are 13 nomination categories in total including ‘Small Business Hero’ and ‘Sports Green Hero’ and the event is hosted by the Climate Coalition, which is the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action against climate change.
Merthyr and Rhymney MP Gerald Jones is encouraging people to submit nominations and wrote in a tweet: “Do you know someone doing great work in Merthyr Tydfil & Rhymney to stand up for nature & tackle climate change? Nominate them for a Green Heart Hero Award today!”
The last date for submissions is December 16 with The Green Heart Hero Awards due to be held in Spring 2023.
You can submit a nomination by visiting The Climate Coalition website.
