Aberbargoed's new Post Office is set to open in the recently-unveiled Nisa Express store
Aberbargoed’s new Post Office is set to open in the recently-unveiled Nisa Express store

A new Post Office is set to open in Aberbargoed next month – three years after the previous one closed.

The new branch will open at the Nisa Express store on 93 Commercial Street on Monday, January 16 at 1pm.

The previous branch was based at Vida Rogers chemist on 26 Commercial Street, but closed after the postmaster resigned.

According to the Post Office, the new branch will be a “new-style local branch with a Post Office serving point alongside the retail counter.”

The Nisa Express opened its doors earlier this month in what was formerly a Ladbrokes betting shop.

Sarah Cottrell, Post Office network provision manager, said: “We are pleased that we will soon have a new Post Office for Aberbargoed, with daily opening and long opening hours, which will make it easy for customers to visit.”

The new Post Office will be open from 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday, as well as between 8am and 11pm on Sundays.
