The fatal crash happened A468

A 60-year-old man has been killed in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car – police have confirmed.

The crash happened on the A468 between the Pwllypant and Bedwas Bridge roundabouts at around 5.50pm last night (Friday July 7). Police initially reported the crash was between the Crossways (What!) and Bedwas Bridge roundabouts.

Gwent Police, in a statement, said a 60-year-old Caerphilly man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His next of kin have been informed.

A 70-year-old man from the Caerphilly area was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff for treatment.

Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the stretch of road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm and anyone who may have dashcam footage.

Police can be contacted via direct message on social media, or by calling 101, quoting log reference 2300225926.

Gwent Police originally said the age of the deceased man was 58. This article has been updated to reflect this correction.
