Gwent Police are appealing for information after a man died on the A465

Police are appealing for information after a 79-year-old man died in a crash on the A465.

The collision took place on the road towards Rhymney and Dowlais on Tuesday September 12 and involved one car – a white Fiat Tipo.

Gwent Police received a report of the incident at around 6.30pm.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Officers attended, along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service, Air Ambulance Service and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

“A 79-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.”

Now, Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses and want to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the A465 between 6pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday September 12.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to call 101 or DM us quoting log reference 2300309623, with details.”
