Two boys arrested on suspicion of carrying a firearm have been released

Two boys from the Caerphilly area who were arrested on suspicion of carrying a firearm have been released as Gwent Police appeals for information.

The boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on Monday October 23 on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm in a public place and driving without a license or insurance.

After receiving an initial call to Mill Road, Caerphilly, at around 2pm, Caerphilly Observer understands Gwent Police’s search for the boys led them to Gwern y Domen, in the wooded area opposite Lansbury Park.

A police helicopter was searching the area and armed police were seen on foot.

An off-road bike was seized and an air-weapon was recovered from the scene.
