Woman injured after being attacked by her own dog

Bedwellty Road, Cefn Fforest

A woman was taken to hospital with arm and leg injuries after being attacked by her own dog.

The attack happened at a house on Bedwellty Road, Cefn Fforest, at around 4.20pm on Tuesday October 31.

Gwent Police attended the incident alongside personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service.

Police said the dog bit the woman, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

No one else was injured in the attack.

Gwent Police confirmed the dog was “later humanely destroyed by a veterinary surgeon”.

The breed of dog is yet to be identified.
