A young pony foal has been rescued from Gelligaer Common.
An appeal has been launched by RSPCA Cymru to locate the owner of the pony, which was rescued from the common due to concerns for its welfare.
RSPCA deputy chief inspector Gemma Black said: “The pony was quiet and subdued and a vet in attendance advised that suffering was likely if the animal was not removed.
“The young female pony is believed to be no more than four months old.”
The pony is currently in RSPCA care while the organisation tries to track down the owner.
Ms Black added: “Anyone with any first hand information can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and quote 1181252.”
